The problem: The Banting Robotics Team needed a stronger visual identity to support sponsorship outreach and the 2025–2026 competition season. Their branding had evolved over time and lacked consistency across key touchpoints, making it difficult to communicate the team’s impact and present a professional image to sponsors. Any redesign also needed to respect the team’s history and preserve the key elements of the original student-created logo.
Insight: I began by researching the team’s history, achievements, competition results, and sponsor expectations. This revealed that the challenge was not simply visual inconsistency, but communication. The sponsorship package contained valuable information, but its structure and presentation made it difficult for potential sponsors to quickly understand the team’s impact and value.
Outcome: I modernized the existing logo while preserving its original foundation and the fun spirit of FIRST competition. Based on that, I developed a cohesive visual system that could be applied across print, digital, and merchandise applications. I redesigned the sponsorship package as an editorial-style publication focused on storytelling and clarity, restructured sponsorship tiers, and created a unified identity across newsletters, banners, apparel, and promotional materials.
The resulting brand system strengthened the team’s professional presence and helped to double both the number and size of sponsorships secured within six months compared to previous years.

The Logo
I refined and modernized the Banting Robotics Team logo while preserving the core elements of the original student-created design. The update focused on improving clarity, scalability, and overall visual impact, allowing the logo to work more effectively across digital media, print materials, merchandise, and team branding while still respecting the team’s identity and history.
